Location date
The date a mining claim was staked, establishing its priority against competing claims on the same ground.
As with water, mining claims run on seniority: the earlier valid location prevails where claims overlap. The location date is the marker for that contest.
Location dates in aggregate are also a market signal. A cluster of recent locations in a district is the earliest public evidence that someone with a geologic thesis is quietly assembling ground.
