Land mask
A filter excluding water bodies and other non-developable surfaces from scored analysis.
Without a mask, a scoring grid dutifully assigns values to the middle of a lake, and those cells pollute rankings and averages. Masking them out is the difference between a score you can sort and one you have to eyeball.
SubSurface Intel applies a land mask before scoring so that water bodies are excluded rather than scored zero — an exclusion and a zero mean very different things.
