H3 hex grid
A hierarchical hexagonal grid system that divides the earth into uniform cells at multiple resolutions.
Hexagons have uniform distance to all neighbors, which makes them better than squares for proximity and aggregation work. H3 nests resolutions so a coarse screening pass can drill into finer cells without changing the analysis.
SubSurface Intel scores siting suitability per H3 cell, which is what turns a continuous landscape into something you can rank, filter and compare without arbitrary boundaries.
